The concept of Malaysia Madani, which also encompasses the educational aspect, is an effort to dignify the people and the nation, ensuring that knowledge becomes a priority and simultaneously cultivating a society that is highly cultured in terms of knowledge. Malaysia Madani, based on six pillars namely Sustainability (keMampanan), Prosperity (kesejahterAan), Creativity (Daya cipta), Respect (hormAt), Confidence (keyakiNan)  and Benevolence (Ihsan).

History

The systematic history of higher education in Malaysia can be traced back to 1904, exactly 100 years ago, with the establishment of the first university, namely the University of Malaya. Subsequently, higher education developed with the establishment of several universities such as Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, and Universiti Utara Malaysia. Furthermore, the formation of additional universities and university colleges took place after the year 2000.

Initially, these universities played a significant role in producing human resources in the fields of science, engineering, and management in Malaysia. We can certainly take pride in the success of producing graduates who have contributed to the country’s physical development.

However, despite the establishment of these universities in Malaysia for several years and the successful graduation of thousands of students, we are still concerned about various issues involving social problems among students, difficulties in securing employment, and the challenges faced by graduates in the workforce.

Hence, through this conference, it is hoped that the relevant aspects can be thoroughly examined to fulfill the government’s aspirations of producing charismatic, skilled, and outstanding students who can serve as role models and future leaders.
